Low-income families and youth can receive support from ROK to access additional opportunities. Opportunities with ROK focus on creativity, self-esteem building, meeting new people, health & fitness education, and reducing instances of depression, suicide and substance abuse.

Services: Donations of gently used coats, ski pants, boots, scarves, mitts, and gloves are collected in the month of October by the Family Resource Centre, Big Brothers Big Sisters, CMHA, and Portage Plains United Way. Drop off for winter coats are at the above locations as well as Portage Firehall and Stride Place.
The coats are distributed every Thursday in the month of November (typically) from 2:00pm - 5:30pm, to families in need and who would otherwise not have access to winter outerwear.
Eligibility: Families in need of outer winter wear, for those that would otherwise be unable to access appropriate and proper Manitoba winter wear.
